As the Dhaka University National Model United Nations 2024 commences, I welcome you all, delegates from across the country and beyond, to experience this conference and showcase your excellence in an environment intricately crafted not only by my immensely dedicated DUNMUN team but also by years of history, heritage, and hard work.
Model UN as an extracurricular activity requires rigorous research, confident comportment, geopolitical understanding, and diplomatic acumen. Thus, a proper environment to practice all of these is a must to ensure the integrity of a Model UN conference. DUNMUN has always recognized this fact and has done everything to ensure the best experience for everyone involved with this prestigious conference.
We take immense pride in the history and legacy DUNMUN has created over the years. From being the first university-based Model UN of Bangladesh to become the biggest Model UN conference in all of South Asia, DUNMUN has constantly illustrated its professionalism, it has grown every step of the way, and it has set benchmarks in the arena of Model UN in Bangladesh, and most importantly it has created a platform for comprehensive intellectual discourses among the youth. As the Secretary General of DUNMUN’24, the captain of the ship as you may call me, I assure you that we are committed, and dedicated to living up to the expectations and standards previously set by this conference. In fact, together, we can strive to reach new heights as we look forward to maintaining the upward trajectory the conference has been demonstrating since its inception.
Lastly, a gentle reminder that revolution is a part of the University of Dhaka’s psyche, it is a part of DUNMUN’s psyche. Hence, I hope the delegates, executives, and everyone attending the conference come prepared to witness one, be it on a personal level, or on a grand scale.
